Installing the Gorelo RMM Agent is the first step towards monitoring and managing a system. Based on enterprise grade IoT infrastructure, it allows two way communication across the entire Gorelo ecosystem to facilitate delivery of telemetry from managed systems and execution of various operations on them.
Initiate Installation
Installation process of RMM can be initiated from any of the three areas.
To begin the installation process, follow one of two routes:
Starting Point 1: Asset List
Go to Asset List from the left menu.
Hover over ➕ Asset button on top right and choose option Download RMM.
This opens a popup that ask for Client and Location. Note: Selecting a Client is optional.
If the Client and Location are selected, the system will associate with the specified Client and Location upon Agent installation.
If a Client is not selected during the Agent installation, the asset can be adopted by a Client afterward. Once the asset is adopted, policies can be applied. Click here to learn more about Asset Adoption.
Click on Request RMM Agent button.
System will present the script to download RMM for Windows OS. Click here to learn more about downloading RMM for MacOS.
Starting Point 2: Client Detail:
Click on Clients from the left menu
On the Client List, click on a Client's name
On Client Detail, in the Locations grid, click on the Download RMM icon on any of the records.
System will open a popup to continue the process.
Starting Point 3: ➕ Icon in the Application Header
Through ➕ icon present in application header
Hover over the plus icon.
Choose Asset from the options.
Installation Methods
There are two methods for of installation method of RMM.
Method 1: Using Installation Command (recommended):
Click on Copy.
A powershell script will be copied to your clipboard.
Open powershell on the system where Agent needs to be installed.
Run the script via PowerShell with administrator privileges.
Method 2: Download .exe File
Click on Download the manual Installer option.
Once the download is complete, Locate the downloaded .exe file and run it to proceed Agent installation (Note: Don't rename installer file).
Run the installer (Note: Administrative rights are required to install the Agent).
In the popup, License key is auto fetched. Click on Install button.
The installation process will start in the background.
Post Installation
Once the installation process is successfully completed, some processes and services of Gorelo will start in your Task Manager and a new Device will appear in your Asset List.
