Tags in Gorelo provide the capability to dynamically associate rules and features to different entities in the system.

Asset Policy Tags are one such type of Tags which can be created to facilitate construction of Policies which can be dynamically applied to RMM managed Devices.

To create a new Asset Policy Tag, navigate to Settings > Tag from the left menu.

On the resulting view, click on the drop down on the top-left and select 'Asset Policy Tags'

Next, click on 'Create an Asset Tag' on the bottom-left

The following popup gets displayed

Start by providing a name for the Tag. Next, mention if the Tag should be considered Sticky. Marking a Tag as Sticky makes it so that once applied to a Device through a Policy, even the removal of any conditions which resulted in it getting applied will not cause the removal of the Tag from the Device.

To provide conditions on which Devices should this Tag be applied to, select the 'Add Expressions' checkbox. You can now provide one or more condition on which Devices will be matched. There are 5 different properties you can target for each Device:

  • Installed Apps: Checks if a particular Application is installed on the Device

  • Installed Services: Checks if a particular Service is running on the Device

  • Registry Key: Checks if the Windows Registry has a particular value set on a defined path on the Device.

  • Windows Feature: Checks if a particular Windows Feature is installed on the Device

  • Asset Name: Checks if the Asset Name matches or contains a defined text.

Hit the Save button to create the Asset Policy Tag. It will now be available for use in Policy Management.
